Llancarfan is a small village tucked into the Nant Carfan valley of the Vale of Glamorgan. Layers of the real and imagined past welcome visitors, and still surprise the villagers. The famous Welsh historian and mythologist Iolo Morganwg was born here. His work and imaginings reward both visiting historians and questing visitors. Described in literature as 'this little sanctuary in the midst of the wilderness', Llancarfan's meandering valeways weave together church & pub, ancient relics, healing springs and rural delights.  Our views [Left to Right] are towards the village ford, from the old blacksmith's, and at nearby East Aberthaw where our river reached the sea.
